Buying a home in Castleford

Our doors at CASTLEFORD are back open
We are delighted to announce that, after a Covid-forced year of working from home and hot-desking in other offices, Tina and her team are now happily installed back at 46 Carlton Street! Are you thinking of buying a home in Castleford?
Castleford is a great, thriving market town that has been part of our Richard Kendall family since October 2017. It’s an historic town, famously dating back to Roman times, although the boom of the Industrial Revolution made the biggest impact on the town’s population. The need for coal fueled the development of many collieries in the area and in the early 20th Century, the construction of Ferrybridge Power Station. All of which contributed to a population boost, growing the town from 1,000 residents to around 14,000 by the end of the 19th Century.
Leisure
Nowadays Castleford is debatably most famous for rugby league, with Castleford Tigers being one of the founder members of the Superleague in 1996. The area also boasts the excellent leisure complex Xscape, which provides a wealth of sport and recreation facilities, as well as lots of options for dining out.
TV Fame
In 2008 Castleford was also thrown into the spot light when Channel 4 and Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud led a community regeneration scheme, giving the town, amongst other things, the architectural Millennium Bridge footbridge over the River Aire.
