It is a legal requirement for any rental property to have a smoke alarm on any habitable floor of a property and a carbon monoxide detector in any room where there is a solid fuel burner. These alarms needs physically testing on the first day of a tenancy. If you are unable to carry this task out Richard Kendall will attend the property on the day of tenancy commencement and test these alarms for you (subject to timescales and area).
