Simple Safety Checks in Your Rental Home

Taking a few minutes to carry out basic safety checks in your rental home can make a real difference. Test your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors regularly to ensure they are working correctly. A quick check each month is usually enough, and if you notice anything is not functioning as it should, please report it to us as soon as possible.

It is also worth checking outdoor lighting around your rental home. Working lights at the front, rear or in the garden help with visibility and security, particularly as you begin to spend more time outside during the lighter evenings. If a bulb needs replacing or a fitting is not working, it is best to address it early.
