Richard Kendall Estate Agent Look Back on 2017

This year has flown by, and we are now just a stone's throw away from 2018! We have had yet another great year here at Richard Kendall, and here are just a few of the highlights.
The year began with the relocation of our Normanton office, to 10 High Street. A great position right in the heart of town.
In April we sponsored and competed in the Wakefield Hospice 10K run for the third year in succession, which this year exceeded the fundraising target raising £51,000 making it the most successful Wakefield Hospice 10K in history – something we are very proud to have been part of!
Opening our brand new office in Castleford was another highlight of the year, opening its door on the 1st October on the back of the success of our Pontefract office. We have now built an established presence not only in Wakefield but in Ossett, Horbury, Normanton, Pontefract and Castleford, covering most of the area of WMDC.
Of course, Richard Kendall Estate Agent wouldn’t be the success it is today and has been since 1991 without the help of our staff! In October we saw the promotion of Lisa Wood to Pontefract office manager, Kelly Scoffins to Letting Manager at Pontefract and Tina Wood, office manager at Castleford.
Three members of staff, Jason Kent, Lucy Harrison, and Jody Murphy passed the NFOPP Technical award in sale of Residential Property this year, our Associate Directors Roger Hall and Jody Murphy both passed their Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment, and Sophie Crossley passed her Level 3 NVQ in Business and Administration, and has consequently been promoted to Property Consultant.
Along with multiple staff achievements there have also been many milestones! Phil Riley celebrated 10 years with us, Karen Dawson celebrated 20 years and Liz Kirk retired this year having worked for Richard Kendall for the last 25 years.
2017 saw 10% of our staff pregnant/ on maternity leave. We welcomed the following members to the Richard Kendall Estate Agent family in 2017:
Victoria Pelling from our lettings department welcomed Sophia, Jason Kent from our valuation department welcomed Harrison, Andy Leeson also from our valuation department and Donna Warrington from our Ossett office welcomed Amelia, Jody Murphy from our Pontefract office welcomed Theo, Lauren Hopwood, our weekend receptionist at our Wakefield office welcomed Millie and Shireen Khaladj welcomed Jaxon.
More recently, Rose Silverwood has welcomed baby Oskar as well as Kirsty and David Savage who have welcomed baby Imogen.
As for Richard Kendall Estate Agent, we have simply gone from strength to strength. Our new Castleford office has done nothing but compliment the other five offices and we very much remain the market leader in the selling and renting of property in Wakefield. Viewing figures have shown an increase, as have new instructions and sales.
Throughout 2017 we have maintained our close working relationship with Richard Kendall Conveyancing to ensure the smooth and seamless progression of your sale through to exchange and completion, and strive to continue this throughout 2018.
And finally, our own Vince Hickman and Mortgage Solutions has continued to cover all the six branches and look forward to welcoming a new financial advisor in 2018.
