Richard Kendall Sponsor Friarwood Festival

The first Friarwood festival will be held this year at Friarwood Valley Gardens. A fun family-friendly music festival celebrating local musicians. There will be live music throughout the day, free children’s entertainment, food stalls and a festival bar. This is a free event and any donations will go towards the regeneration of the Valley Gardens.

The event will be run by The Friends of Friarwood Valley Gardens, a community group working to regenerate and raise the profile of the Valley Gardens Park in Pontefract.

Since it formed in 2012 the Friends group has made many improvements to the Valley Gardens and is responsible for the running or many events in the local area such as Yorkshire Day, The Lantern Festival and The Liquorice Festival.

Some of the bands playing at the festival include Pinups, Micky Johnson, Supersonnets, Big Day, and many more! The event takes place on August 18th from 2pm until 9pm.
