Richard Kendall Sponsor Wakefield 10K
We are proud to announce we will be sponsoring the 22nd annual Wakefield 10K for the third time in 2017!
The event takes place on Sunday the 2nd of April and all the money raised will be going to Wakefield Hospice.
The hospice is a purpose build palliative care unit which opened in April 1990. The fantastic staff at the hospice provide much needed support and care to patients and their loved ones during difficult times in their lives. The majority of the patients have progressive cancer, however care is also provided for anyone with a life limiting illness, such as Motor Neurone Disease, end stage respiratory, cardiac/renal failure, or HIV/AIDS.
It costs around around £4 million for the hospice to deliver their services to their patients and their families each year. Only 25% of this funding comes from statutory sources – the rest comes from fundraising!
Last year, those who ran in the Wakefield 10K raised an incredible £50,000, which is enough to fund a whole weeks care in the hospice! The race takes place in Clarence Park Arena, Thornes Park. Please see below for the map of the route:
Beginning fundraising early will give you the best chance of raising as much as possible for the hospice. Visit the Wakefield 10K website here for fundraising top tips!
You can enter the event here! Entry costs £20 per person and includes a race number, disposable chip timing tag and a Wakefield 10K Technical T-Shirt!
We hope to see you there! Good Luck from everybody at Richard Kendall.
